Philadelphia Beverage Tax Breakfast Briefing

By Sustainable Business Network of Greater Phila (other events)

Wednesday, January 11 2017 8:30 AM 10:00 AM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Starting January 1, 2017, the City of Philadelphia will impose a 1.5-cents-per-ounce tax on the distribution of sweetened beverages (such as regular and diet sodas, teas, and others) as well as syrups and concentrates used to make sweetened drinks.

In our policy work, educating the public is a vital aspect to our advocacy efforts. When changes in legislation or policy occur, SBN views it to be mission critical to inform our constituents and to make educational opportunities available to our membership, so that we can effectively rally the local business community.

Philadelphia businesses, specifically businesses in the food and beverage sector, need to prepare for compliance on January 1, 2017.

On January 11, beginning at 8:30 AM, SBN is hosting a Breakfast Briefing. This event is open to SBN members and the public, but this is specifically pertinent for businesses in the food and beverage sector.

A representative from the Department of Revenue will present the details and impact of the Philladelphia Beverage Tax. This representative will also be available to answer questions or address concerns about the implications of this new tax policy.
