ABOUT ABOUT

The Entrepreneurs' Roundtable is an intentionally intimate monthly members-only issue-based breakfast conversation created to connect local independent businesses with elected officials and other key decision makers in the city, region, and state.

For the first Roundtable of 2018, we are excited to welcome Sheila Ireland, City of Philadelphia's Office of Workforce Development's Executive Director to discuss how the City can become a model employer, and further, how Philadelphia can become a home for model employers.

The Office of Workforce Development recently released a new citywide workforce development strategy, Fueling Philadelphia’s Talent Engine. The plan calls for a collaborative effort between local government and the private sector.

The plan states: "Model Employers recruit, hire, retain, and advance a workforce that is diverse, skilled, and prepared to meet the demands of Philadelphia’s growing industries. Model Employers don’t just help city residents. They also have a competitive advantage in their industries resulting from their highly developed workforce."

We look forward to convening SBN members to engage in a rich solution-focused conversation informed by the wealth of experience of our triple bottom line business community's practices. Harnessing the power of business to support workforce development and economic justice is integral to our work building a just, green, and thriving local economy.

This event is for SBN MEMBERS ONLY. Attendance is limited to 25 SBN members and is first come, first served. Membership of each registrant will be verified. Learn more about joining SBN.
