ABOUT ABOUT

Best Practice Forums are a series of workshops from SBN that use member case studies to create meaningful opportunities to learn, connect, and build a better business. The next program in the series will discuss a variety of perspectives of how to build a Zero Waste Business.

Waste is not solely an environmental issue but a social and economic matter of concern as well.

You are invited to hear from several businesses whose business model is reducing the waste stream and who are incorporating zero waste practices.

Joining our panel of representatives from the local business community is Nic Esposito, Zero Waste and Litter Cabinet Director, who will share how local businesses can support the city's bold Zero Waste goal.

Attendees will be part of a conversation that addresses both the impact and business case of Zero Waste.

Zero Waste "creates jobs, spurs the growth of domestic manufacturing, reduces toxic gases from landfills and incinerators, clean up our waterways and protects the health of our communities, saves energy, saves money for businesses and communities, and grows the economy" (ILSR).

As a follow-up to our conversation, we are hosting a free Best for PHL Challenge workshop directly after the forum from 11:30AM-1:00PM where attendees are invited to start measuring their impact in this area as well as their larger social, environmental, and economic impact. Whether you are taking it for the first time or updating your assessment for the new year, we invite you to take this free, online assessment that encourages, supports and recognizes companies in the Philadelphia region that commit themselves to creating positive impact. Best for PHL assists these businesses as they identify how they may be able to help address regional, social, and/or environmental problems.

Join the conversation about the Business of Zero Waste and how your business can take the first steps towards being a leader in our region's Zero Waste future.
