ABOUT ABOUT

The Excellence in GSI Awards Ceremony is the region's only award that celebrates and elevates green stormwater infrastructure projects and innovations, the triple bottom line (TBL) benefits of a nature-based approach to stormwater management, and the partners who bring these projects to life in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

Join us on Thursday, May 17, along with the region's industry professionals, developers and property owners, government and non-profit institutions, and academics.

The evening will open with a poster reception where guests can view the project posters of the finalists and mingle with other industry professionals while enjoying seasonal fare and drinks by La Peg.

We'll hear from our Keynote Speaker, Marc Cammarata, P.E., Deputy Water Commissioner for Planning, Philadelphia Water Department.

Marc Cammarata has over 20 years of experience in water resources engineering and environmental planning. He has played a key role in leading the implementation of Philadelphia’s innovative and influential stormwater management plan Green City, Clean Waters, which exceeded targets set for the plan’s first five years. As the Deputy Water Commissioner for Planning for the Philadelphia Water Department, he continues to lead the effort for this plan that integrates land-based urban sustainability goals with the goals for clean, safe, attractive and accessible rivers and streams. His service to the city and the region’s waterways has helped keep Philadelphia on the leading edge of using nature-based solutions to manage stormwater.

On behalf of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN), the GSI Partners will be recognizing excellence in GSI in the following categories:

Public Projects: Built projects managed in large part by a public agency and/or on public property (municipal, state, federal)

Private Projects: Built projects managed in large part by a private entity and/or on private property

Innovation: Processes or programs that break new ground, by applying information, ingenuity, and initiative to significantly advance GSI's impact

Winning applications will highlight the triple bottom line (environmental, social, and economic) benefits of a green infrastructure approach to stormwater management.

We will present the winners of each category with an award, and conclude the evening with more food and libations.
