ABOUT ABOUT

Rain Check, the Philadelphia Water Department’s residential stormwater management program, is currently recruiting contractors for the upcoming contract year beginning July 1, 2017. Rain Check is co-managed by the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) of Greater Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) to engage local businesses to design and/or install stormwater management tools (rain barrels, downspout planters, rain gardens, and porous pavers) at Philadelphia residents’ homes.

PHS and SBN are seeking qualified landscapers, hardscapers, and home improvement contractors with relevant experience and a strong administrative capacity to be part of this valuable program. The Rain Check team has a strong preference for firms that are local, small, and/or certified WMDBE.

Any firm interested in applying to join the Rain Check contract must attend the Rain Check Contractor Information Session & All Contractor Meeting. These meetings will be held consecutively on Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 at the PHS offices (100 N. 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103) from 8 AM to 11 AM.

The Rain Check Contractor Information Session is required for all new contractors that wish to be added to the contract and will run from 8 AM to 9:45 AM. This meeting will provide an overview of the Rain Check program; Green City, Clean Waters; contractor benefits; workflow & logistics; expectations and requirements, and application.

The Rain Check All Contractor Meeting is required for all new and existing Rain Check contractors, which will run from 10 AM until 11 AM. This meeting will include a recap and update on the program from the previous year, information on program resources, goals for the coming year and will feature an opportunity for contractors to meet one another and network.
