ABOUT ABOUT

The Entrepreneurs' Roundtables provide SBN members with access to the region’s leading policymakers for dialogue on issues relevant to the local economy and mission-driven businesses.

On June 21, SBN’s Entrepreneurs’ Roundtable will host Carl E. Jones, Director of the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Office of Environmental Justice to discuss The State of Environmental Justice in Pennsylvania.

DEP established the Office of Environmental Advocate in 2002 to give communities a chance to be involved in policy, planning, and permitting processes. As director of DEP’s Office of Environmental Justice, Jones will commit to serving justice, focusing on vulnerable communities whose voices and concerns are not heard regarding environmental issues.

Prior to his appointment by former DEP Secretary John Quigley in 2015, Jones worked as an attorney at Tucker Law Group LLC in Philadelphia. He is also the co-founder of the Idea Coalition, a non-profit organization focused on improving communication between African-American and Jewish communities.

The Roundtable will start with a light breakfast and networking, feature an hour of moderated conversation between member businesses and Jones, and conclude with half an hour of general Q & A.

IMPORTANT! This free program is open to SBN members ONLY. Attendance is limited to 15 members and is first come, first served. Membership of each registrant will be verified.
