Best Practice Forum: Branding and Messaging for the Sustainable Business

ABOUT ABOUT

The Best Practice Forums are a series of workshops from SBN and Forsei Consulting that use member case studies to create meaningful opportunities to learn, connect, and build a better business. At the next program in the series, SBN member Clean Markets will discuss best practices for successfully promoting a sustainable business.

The SBN community is comprised of an expanding network of members dedicated to incorporating sustainability into their mission. For many, this commitment to measuring success on a triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit is well-known amongst their network of colleagues and employees, but they still face the significant challenge of communicating these values to customers and the public.

To differentiate themselves as authentic and principled with their audience, business leaders must develop a communication strategy that seamlessly incorporates their sustainability practices and goals. At this forum, participants will learn how to develop a marketing plan that communicates their efforts and resonates with current and prospective customers.

The case study presentation will include branding strategies used in the energy efficiency and green building industries. After the presentation, members of an expert panel will offer additional insights and ideas, and audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Presenter: Ben Block is a marketing and communications specialist with Clean Markets, a Chestnut Hill-based clean energy market development firm, SBN member and B Corp.

Panelists:

  • Sharon Gallagher, Sage Communications
  • Michael Kleiner and John Shiffert, Michael Kleiner Public Relations and Web Design
  • Steve Rosen, ALOYSIUS BUTLER & CLARK

Coffee and a light breakfast will be served.
