ABOUT ABOUT

Join SBN for part two in the triple bottom line series, TBL: Social. The event will focus on the social impacts of triple bottom line businesses and the considerations that socially responsible businesses take into account on a daily basis. Check out the line-up of speakers and sessions:

Plenary Session: Chris Rabb, TedxPhiladelphia speaker, Temple University adjunct professor, and author of Invisible Capital

Hear Chris speak on entrepreneurship as a means to build community wealth. His talk will touch on:
•         How we can define wealth differently.
•         How businesses large and small can expand community (as opposed to prey on) communities.
•         How businesses can do well by doing good, and the statistical evidence that suggests that the factors that increase the likelihood of business success and help our local economy to be more inclusive and just are the same.

Breakout Session One: Connecting Vision with Messaging to increase ROI
w/Geoff DiMasi, P’unk Ave and Orly Zeewy, Brand Architect

In this hands-on, interactive workshop you'll learn how to determine if and when a potential project (and client) support your business core values and how to recognize it when it doesn't. Geoff DiMasi of P'unk Ave will explain the AMP (Autonomy, Master, Purpose) rubric that his company has developed to do just that and how it has transformed their business and increased their ROI.

Orly Zeewy, popular SVI speaker and respected facilitator and messaging expert will show participants how to cut through the noise to recognize socially based messaging and show you how to develop a meaningful elevator speech that helps potential clients recognize you, buy you and recommend you.

Breakout Session Two: A Conversation on the Living Wage
w/ Robert Brand, Founder, Work for Progress for America and Solutions for Progress

As triple bottom businesses (and triple bottom line business aficionados), we all want to create opportunity for ourselves, our employees, and our society. And we know that paying a family-sustaining wage is a key part of this. But to what extent are businesses able to fulfill this key part of sustainability?

This workshop will explore where we are now, what needs to happen in terms of every business paying a living or family-sustaining wage, and the roles of businesses and innovations in government and regulation as it relates to this goal.  It will also create a safe space to discuss the successes and limitations of local businesses as it relates to paying a family-sustaining wage and explore SBN’s role in advancing this movement forward.
